Fly-Tying Evenings

2009 - 2010

Building on the successes of last year we are pleased to again be able to provide a programme of both midweek group activities and also the option of one to one guidance to suit your particular needs.

To start the years programme we are holding our first midweek session on Wednesday 11th November 2009 at 7pm in the store at Dunchurch.

This will give us the chance to organise the groups, beginners / improvers / advanced, and to give you the opportunity to review the forthcoming programme in detail.

These midweek sessions are structured to allow for the pressures of both family and business life and are not dependent upon attendance each week – But obviously to get the best out of the total programme (especially for beginners) the more you are able to attend the more the quality of your tying will improve.

We are again most fortunate to have Frank Moors joining us on a fortnightly basis and this again allows for the rolling 4 weeks programme that was so successful last year.

Basically, Week 1 – will be a Demo Night, where Frank will show us the use of the latest materials and how to get the best out of them, whilst creating some truly stunning patterns for use across all forms of Fly Fishing. All welcome.

Week 2 – will concentrate on a preset programme (8 Modules) for both Improvers and Beginners, and this will be run by Andy Stokes and me.

Week 3 – will see Frank Moors joining both Andy and myself to run an evening Workshop where tyers are able to sort out tying issues or discuss and see demonstrated techniques that are causing them problems – or to even discuss the hot issues in the tying scene. All welcome.

Week 4 – will see Andy and I back in action, specifically with the improvers and beginners.

The programme then rolls forward with Frank back for another Demo Night.

The total programme runs for 17 weeks and allowing for Christmas is timed for finishing around the end of March – just in time to start using those tied flies!

We expect there to be a high demand for both the beginners and improvers sessions so make contact soon to let us now you intend to join us.

The cost of attending each week is £5.00 and this covers materials for beginners and improvers and as much tea and coffee as you need to get you through the evening!

During week commencing 9th November 2009, we hope to publish the full detailed programme on the website. But please do not wait to see that before contacting us to get on board.
