Draycote Water is one of Britain's premier Trout Fisheries.  There are nearly five miles of bank fishing, also boats are available for hire.  Tuition is available for all levels.  Visit or call the Fishing Lodge for more information.  The reservoir was completed in 1970 and at full capacity covers more than 600 acres to a maximum depth of 65feet and has a capacity of 5,000 million gallons.  It has not been created by damming a river but is a storage reservoir filled with water pumped from the river Leam during the winter months, helping to reduce the floods.  During summer months, water is pumped up a pipe line to Rugby, and also released back into the Leam, which is used as an aqueduct to convey the water to Royal Leamington Spa.

Lodge and Visitor Centre - The Lodge, Visitor centre and Restaurant are now open.

Do not forget to use 'Back' to return to this page

As you will see from the web cam the water level is very high, this will help keep weed levels low and water temperatures lower during hot spells, depending of course on how much water is drawn off by July - August.

"I don't see any reason why the Buzzer fishing should not be equally as good
if not better than last year."
