Draycote
Water
is one of Britain's premier Trout Fisheries. There
are nearly five miles of bank fishing, also boats are
available for hire. Tuition is available for all
levels. Visit or call the Fishing Lodge for more
information. The reservoir was completed in 1970
and at full capacity covers more than 600 acres to a maximum
depth of 65feet and has a capacity of 5,000 million gallons.
It has not been created by damming a river but is a storage
reservoir filled with water pumped from the river Leam
during the winter months, helping to reduce the floods.
During summer months, water is pumped up a pipe line to
Rugby, and also released back into the Leam, which is
used as an aqueduct to convey the water to Royal Leamington
Spa.
Lodge
