2039 C.D.C. Touch It 'n' Run Daddy sz 12 2039 C.D.C. Touch It 'n' Run Daddy sz 12
code no. 2039
This pattern is tied on a size 12 hook and imitates a terrestrial Crane fly. The fly consists of a cock pheasant tail thorax; a braid-detached body and hackle point tip wings. The legs are constructed from knotted brown monofilament. These materials make this a light pattern, subject to movement across the water surface in even a light breeze. In fact it will act very much like the natural insect, which can be blown onto the lake or river anytime from late July to the end of the season. As the Crane fly is a reasonable size meal for a trout, it can often pull the bigger fish to the surface.

2040 C.D.C. Lunn's Cul Particular sz 14 2040 C.D.C. Lunn's Cul Particular sz 14
code no. 2040
A size 14 pattern representing a wide range of olives, from the large Spurwing to the Lake Olive and also covering the spinner stage of these flies. The body is made of a stripped hackle stalk, giving the fly a natural segmented look. Two CDC feathers form the wing, encased by a winding of mid-brown genetic cock hackle. Cast to fish rising to natural Olives during the day and, as night approaches, fish it as a spinner pattern in the surface film. This fly is suitable for use on both lakes and rivers from early May to the end of September.

2041 C.D.C. Shuttlecock Hare's Ear sz 12 2041 C.D.C. Shuttlecock Hare's Ear sz 12
code no. 2041
This pattern is tied on a size 12 curved hook and imitates an emerging Buzzer or indeed any insect at the water surface, that is about to hatch. The body is Hare's ear under fur with some guard hairs in it, ribbed with fine gold wire. CDC is tied in behind the thorax and pulled up over the eye in a shuttlecock style, thus hanging the fly vertically in the surface film. In lakes the fly should be fished almost stationary, retrieving only to keep in contact with the fly. On rivers it should be fished dead drift down a run, line retrieve being dependent on current speed. This fly can be used all year round.

2042 C.D.C. Shuttlecock Nymph sz 10 2042 C.D.C. Shuttlecock Nymph sz 10
code no. 2042
This pattern is tied on a size 10-curved hook and imitates an emerging Nymph. The under body is silver, with just one cock pheasant tail fiber wound over it. This gives iridescence to the body that fish find very attractive. The thorax is orange dubbing, with white CDC stretched over it and over the eye of the hook in a shuttlecock style. The CDC feathers hang the fly vertically in the surface film, imitating many hatching flies. In lakes the fly should be fished almost stationary and in rivers the retrieve should just keep pace with the current speed. This fly can be used all year round.

2043 C.D.C. Shuttlecock Buzzer Black sz 14 2043 C.D.C. Shuttlecock Buzzer Black sz 14
code no. 2043
This is a size 14 pattern and imitates an emerging Buzzer. The body is black tying thread, ribbed with silver wire. The thorax is made of orange Goose biots, simulating blood pumping up the body prior to hatching. A sloping back wing of grey CDC completes the fly. Due to the wing, the fly is suspended in the surface film in the same position as the natural is, prior to hatching. When trout are rising to hatching Midges this can be a killing pattern. Cast in the area of moving fish and left to drift in the breeze, the retrieve just being enough to keep in touch with the fly. This fly is mainly a lake pattern that can be used from April to October.

2044 C.D.C. Sedge sz 10 2044 C.D.C. Sedge sz 10
code no. 2044
This pattern is tied on a size 10 hook and represents an emerging or egg laying Sedge. The body and the thorax of the fly is dubbed synthetic fur in a light tan colour, the wing is a natural grey CDC feather. The thorax has a light brown cock hackle palmered along it. This, allied to the CDC wing, makes this fly a very good floater even in turbulent water. Fish it to rising fish in the late afternoon and on into the evening. Takes will tend to be explosive, as trout do not like to let large meals get away. This fly can be used on lakes and rivers, whenever the naturals are present on the water.

2045 C.D.C. Blue Bottle (Albutt's) sz 14 2045 C.D.C. Blue Bottle (Albutt's) sz 14
code no. 2045
This is a size 14 pattern and is tied to represent the common Bluebottle. This is a terrestrial pattern, so of course there is no hatch as such but the natural is blown onto the water all season long so fish readily recognize it as food. Trout will often rise to it on rivers and lakes when little fly is on the water, and they do this even in quite deep pools. The body comprises of black dubbing with a pearl rib; the wing is a natural CDC feather and the eyes are burnt monofilament. This fly can be used all season, but works best in late summer.

2046 C.D.C. Apricot Spinner sz 14 2046 C.D.C. Apricot Spinner sz 14
code no. 2046
This pattern is tied on a size 14 hook and is a representation of the female Pond Olive Spinner. The body of the fly is orange tying silk; the tail and thorax hackle is white cock hackle. Any lake that has a significant hatch of Pond Olives, come evening and early morning lake margins would be littered with dead and dying spinners. Casting this pattern in those areas or to rising fish can result in excellent dry fly sport. The fly is primarily a lake fly and performs well all summer with peaks in June, July and September.

2047 C.D.C. Shipman's Lite Brite Black sz 12 2047 C.D.C. Shipman's Lite Brite Black sz 12
code no. 2047
This is a size 12 pattern and represents an emerging Buzzer. The body and the thorax are dubbed black seals fur with a rib of fine gold wire. Over the eye and the bend of the hook grey CDC is tied in, giving the "Shipman's" style to the fly. The natural fly rises to the surface and sits in the surface film, awaiting hatching. The CDC feather supports this pattern in a very realistic way and proves very successful when trout are moving just subsurface taking hatching midges. Cast this fly to moving fish and fish it very slowly with hardly any retrieve at all. This is a lake fly that can be used all season.

2048 C.D.C. Shipman's Lite Brite Hare's sz 12 2048 C.D.C. Shipman's Lite Brite Hare's sz 12
code no. 2048
This pattern is tied on a size 12 hook and represents an emerging Buzzer or Nymph. The body of this fly is a mixture of hare's ear and Lite Brite dubbing giving it a very "buggy" appearance, shot through with flashes of irradiance. Over the eye and the bend of the hook grey CDC is tied in, giving the "Shipman's" style to the fly. Fish this fly with no retrieve, to trout moving in the surface film. It will be taken as an emerging insect with great enthusiasm. The fly can be used on both lakes and rivers all season long.

2049 C.D.C. Shipman's Lite Brite Red sz 12 2049 C.D.C. Shipman's Lite Brite Red sz 12
code no. 2049
This is a size 12 pattern and imitates an emerging insect. The body is formed using red Lite Brite dubbing, simulating the blood pumping up the insect, prior to hatching. Over the eye and the bend of the hook, natural CDC is tied in "Shipman's" style. The CDC supports the fly in the surface film, making it very attractive to trout that are moving the surface looking for an easy meal. The only retrieve that is necessary is one to just keep in touch with the fly, allowing the breeze to move the fly around naturally. The fly is primarily a lake fly and can be used all season.
